Best Places to Get Married near Shepherdstown, West Virginia
Shepherdstown, West Virginia is my home, and a place that I love sharing with others. From the surrounding mountains, to the college-town-feel, and all of the fantastic local businesses - there’s so much to love. If you live near Shepherdstown, or have fallen in love with this quaint little town, and are looking to get married nearby, these are some of my favorite wedding venues that I’d highly recommend.
Green Hill Farm | Sharpsburg, MD
Just across the Maryland border from Shepherdstown, Green Hill Farm is a gorgeous rustic wedding venue. With an open-sided event barn and a converted silo as the bar, it’s a fun twist on the classic farm venue. The property is huge, with tons of open space for your guests to enjoy, and is a real operating farm! They have a variety of animals that your guests can say hi to, and even offer floral design with the flowers grown on-site. If you’re looking for a one-stop-shop for your wedding day, you definitely have to check them out.
River Chase | Harper’s Ferry, WV
River Chase is a classic barn wedding venue located right in Harper’s Ferry. The beautiful property is over 9 acres, with a reception barn, greenhouse, and a bridal cottage for getting ready. They offer several different ceremony spaces, all with beautiful views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. Plus, Harper’s Ferry’s central location makes it the perfect spot if you have guests coming from out of town - with easy commutes from both DC & Baltimore.
Hillbrook Inn | Charles Town, WV
This quaint Bed and Breakfast in Charles Town is the perfect spot for a small-to-medium sized wedding. Rentals include a full buyout of the property, meaning you and your family can stay overnight in the historic home! A classic white tent provides cover for your reception, and their in-house chefs will create the perfect menu for your event. This property feels straight out of a fairytale, and I always love getting to photograph weddings here.
Black Bear Resort Lodge | Davis, WV
Located in the Canaan Valley, Black Bear Resort has some of the most spectacular views. Lodge event rentals include a tent for your reception, as well as use of the indoor space for getting ready. The second floor porch is one of my favorite details about this space - providing an incredible view of the valley and a quiet moment away from the bustling party below.
Coming Soon: Cloud Nine | Martinsburg, WV
I’m so excited for this new venue coming to downtown Martinsburg! The sleek, minimalist space will serve as the perfect blank slate for couples to customize however they’d like. This is the perfect contrast to the rustic wedding venues that West Virginia is known for, and I can’t wait to see what couples do with the space!
The West Virginia panhandle has so much to offer, including some fantastic wedding venues. Whether you’re looking for a barn, a historic home, or a sleek modern space, there’s something for everyone! And if you’re looking for a local wedding photographer at any of these venues, I’d love to chat!
